The Provincial Association of Resort Communities of Saskatchewan (PARCS) was founded in 1983 originally as a working group who recognized the need for a collective voice for issues relating specifically to cottage communities in Saskatchewan. The working group evolved into a committee under SUMA, and in 1986 PARCS gained its official status and the current name. PARCS has held its conference and general meeting annually since 1987. PARCS is an independent lobby organization and continues to represent resort village and organized hamlet issues with all levels of government as well as with SUMA and SARM.
